Shehbaz responsible for sugar crisis in Punjab: Elahi

Senior Central Leader of PML-Q and former Punjab Chief Minister Ch. Pervaiz Elahi has termed Shehbaz Sharif as responsible for sugar crisis in the Punjab, saying that the people were searching for, sugar, Roti, employment, peace, education and for medical and health facilities, while, the incumbent Punjab government was making high claims of raising the living standard of the people through this good governance in the province.

He stated this while addressing a party workers convention held at the lawns of a local hotel in Sialkot here Tuesday, in connection with the Iqbal Day.

He said that the PML-Q was striving to make the country prosperous following the vision of Allama Iqbal and to make it a Pakistan as envisaged by the Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

He said that the crimes situation has shown 50 percent increase in Punjab during this government's rule, raising curtain from the worst law and order situation in Punjab. He held responsible provincial government for this 50 percent increase in heinous crimes across Punjab. He said that PML-Q government had established the patrolling police check posts across the Punjab but the Shehbaz Government had attacked on these posts with patrol bomb. He said that the Punjab government was the defaulter of Rs. 200 billion, besides, wasting billions of rupees in corruption in the name of Sasti Roti Scheme.

Pervaiz Elahi pointed out that as many as 42 government colleges across Punjab have been lying unattended and vacant as there were no classes, no teachers, no labs and other basic facilities in these colleges due to alleged height of negligence of the provincial government, which was taking about establishing the Danish School across Punjab for promoting the quality education.

He said that the present government has put the people into the loans and disease of law and order, unemployment, poverty and ignorance and this was the good governance of the Punjab government which was running on a stay order issued by the court.

He said that the eyes and ears of the incumbent have become closed and they were unable to listen or see the miseries of the masses, who ere dying and were forced to sell their children due to poverty and unemployment in the province.

Ch. Pervaiz Elahi said that PML-Q government did record social welfare, human and industrial development oriented projects (worth of Rs.18 billion) in Sialkot district during its tenure, besides, launching Rs. 34 billion mega project of establishing Sialkot-Lahore Motorway but the PML-N government in Punjab had politicized this project and later shelved this project for its political gains putting aside the national interest.
