Blast kills 10 in Peshawar

At least ten people were killed and several others injured in a blast in Peshawar on Wednesday.

The blast occurred in a vehicle in Badaber bus-stand near Police Station in Tila Band area of Peshawar.

Ten people were lost their lives in the blast. The injured have been shifted to Lady Reading Hospital.

"We have received ten dead bodies. There are three children and one woman among the dead," said Abdul Hamid Afridi, the head of Peshawar's main Lady Reading Hospital.

Security forces cordoned off the area immediately after the blast. Peshawar city police chief Liaquat Ali Khan confirmed the death toll, but said 21 people had been injured in the attack.

The explosion destroyed a vehicle and badly damaged a nearby shop. The possible target of the bombing was not immediately clear.

No group has claimed responsibility for the bombing.
