Director General Federal Investigation Agency (DGFIA) Waseem Ahmed on Wednesday tendered his resignation to prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.

According to official sources, the resignation has been approved. Meanwhile, IG Balochistan Malik Mohammad Iqbal has been appointed the new Director General FIA. Notification has been issued.

It may be mentioned that earlier the Supreme Court (SC) ordered the government to remove Waseem Ahmed as DG FIA.
