Obama says intelligence unclear on Pakistani link with Haqqani
President Barack Obama has refused to endorseretired military officier Mike Mullen’s assertions on Pakistani complicity with Afghan militant Haqqani group but said in an interview that Islamabad should take care of the problem concerning extremists operating on its side of the Afghan border.
“I think that the intelligence is not as clear as we might like in terms of what exactly that relationship is,†Obama said in an interview about Mullen’s harsh allegations that the Afghan Haqqani militants worked as “veritable arm†of Pakistani intelligence organization, ISI.
