Pakistan Test squad for series against Sri Lanka announced

Pakistan selectors Sunday night named a 15-member Pakistan squad for the 3-test match series against Sri Lanka starting with the first test in Abu Dhabi from October 18.

The team was named by Chief Selector Mohsin Khan here at National Stadium during the break in the final National T20 Cup between Sialkot Stallions and  Rawalpindi Rams.

He said the team was picked on the basis of performance in international cricket, playing conditions in United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the strength of the rivals.

Besides batsman Umar Akmal, fast medium bowlers Sohail Khan and Sohail Tanvir and leg-spinner Yasir Shah had been dropped from the team that toured Zimbabwe last month.
Pace duo of Umar Gul and Wahab Riaz who were rested during the Zimbabwe tour have returned to the team as expected.

Mohsin Khan said the team for the One-day and T20 Internationals will be announced later.
This is the best combination he said and expressed the hope that they will offer good challenge to Sri Lankan team.

Muhammad Hafeez, Imran Farhat, Taufeeq Umer, Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Younis Khan,Misbah-ul-Haq (Captain),  Shoaib Malik, Adnan Akmal (wicketkeeper) Abdur Rehman,Saeed Ajmal, Umar Gul, Wahab Riaz, Aizaz Cheema and Junaid Khan.
