District Administration on Tuesday booked 17 shopkeepers on charges of profiteering and non display of government approved price lists at Hayatabad.

Acting on public complaints received in District Complaint Cell, District Coordination Officer (DCO) Siraj Ahmad Khan directed ACO Syed Zafar Ali Shah to visit various market of the city.

During the campaign, ACO arrested 17 shopkeepers including butchers; milk, vegetable and fruit shop owners for charges of profiteering, non display of government approved price lists and unhygienic business environment and send them to jail for one month.

DCO said that overcharging is totally unacceptable and stern action would be taken against those involved in this unlawful practice.
