Nawaz wants implementation of APC resolution

Pakistan Muslim League-N chief Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday demanded the federal government to table the resolution adopted in the all parties conference so that an effective mechanism could be evolved for its implementation.

Addressing a meeting of Council of National Affairs in Jaati Umra here, Nawaz said the country was passing through history’s most critical juncture and collective efforts were required to steer it out of prevalent mess.“We, as an opposition have not been playing the role of friendly but constructive opposition,” he added.

The PML-N leader said he did not repent over the three years policy  of Muslim League and gave ample time to the government to mend its  policies. He said the course of mistakes started by Pervez Musharraf regarding  war against terror and the PML-N was ready to help the government and security forces to extricate Pakistan from this situation.

Replying a question, Nawaz Sharif said he was not influenced by any particular group or organization with regard to Pak-India relationship.

“Its my own opinion we should solve all our issues including Kashmir peacefullythrough dialogue and this process had been initiated in the shape of Lahore Declaration on the arrival of Vajpayee but the adventurism of Kargil sabotaged all this process,” he said.

Later, briefly talking to media, Nawaz Sharif said that an effective law was imminent for accountability but the draft of present government was ineffective whereas Muslim League-N wanted such a system of accountability which should be transparent and no one has immunity.

PML-N President refuted a news regarding his meeting with Ch Shujaat Hussain and said that he met him only at the recently held All Parties Conference.
PML-N Deputy Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal, Senator Pervaiz Rashid and Political Secretary Dr. Asif Kirmani were also present.
