Peshawar Blind team announced for Twenty20 Cricket

World record holder and President of the Peshawar Blind Cricket Association (PBCA) Zarin Khan Thursday announced team for the forthcoming All-Pakistan NBP Twenty20 Blind Cricket Tournement to be scheduled from October 10-14 at Bahawalpur.

Flanked by Secretary Habib Ullah, Zarin Khan expressed the hope that the team of Peshawar would give good result like in the past in the tournament. He said they have selected the players after two-day open trials.

He said despite financial crunch the association is regularly sending its teams to different sports event. He said no funds has been specified for them as was for the two dozen associations affiliated with eight with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Board or the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association.
"We have the right like the other people and players have but due to disability we are suffering at the hands of the concerned quarters."
Even well off people and our own citizens do not give respect to blind youth, Zarin added. He said being a world record holder he ran from pillar to post to get people attention. "We have denied even having ground facilities on payment and now we have tired enough to get the attention of the concerned quarters," Zarin Khan said.
Astonishingly despite so many applications no one ensure any financial support or agree to fulfill our genuine demands to the blind youth which are the integral part of this society, Zarin remarked. He said despite all such miseries we are determined to work more hard for the promotion of blind cricket in the province.
He also announced the following names to represent Peshawar in the national event. The team, he said, would leave for Bahawalpur on October 13. The players comprising Javed Khan, Rizwan Ahmad, Muhammad Asif, Nasrut Ullah, Adnan Sami (B1 Category), Masood Jan, Ali Gohar, Bahar Ali, Muhammad Zaib (B2 category), Muhammad Daud, Rahad Ullah, Hussain Ullah, Abdur Rahi (B3 category). Shabir Ahmad is nominated as coach.
