Senator Abdul Rehman Malik was a brilliant student of Karachi University who received his Masters in Statistic in first class and did not stop his quest for education and learning after leaving the University but continued his search for new avenues of learning and delivering lectures in his field worldwide.

This was pointed out in the citation at the Special Convocation 2011 of the University of Karachi held on Tuesday.

Senator Abdul Rehman Malik was conferred the honorary degree of Doctorate. Registrar of Karachi University, Prof. Kalim Raza Khan, read out the citation.

It was pointed out that he started his civil service career and then journey of his successes continued to take him to successive higher positions in his public service career.

He excelled in every field and proved his leadership qualities. He rose to the rank of Additional Director General of Federal Investigation Agency when he investigated cases of national and international importance and significance including money laundering and counter-terrorism.
