Kasab pleads SC to convert death penalty to life term

Ajmal Amir Kasab who was caught and sentenced in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack pleads the Indian Supreme Court to convert his death penalty into life imprisonment, media reported.

Kasab lawyer on February 9 told the Supreme Court Kasab act do not amount to waging war against the government as they don not have an extra element of challenging the sovereign authority.

Indian Supreme Court in October 2011 stayed the death sentence handed down to the lone surviving alleged gunman from the 2008 attacks in Mumbai Taj Mahal hotel.

On May 2010, Kasab was sentenced to death by a trial court of India.
