Sri Lanka on Friday beat Australia in their last one day international (ODI) cricket match of Tri- Series limited-overs by 9 runs and reached in the final in Melbourne.

Michael Hussey scored 74 and Lasith Malinga took four wickets as Australia were bowled out for 229.

Earlier Sri Lanka set Australia a target of 239 to clinch the important ODI.

Dinesh Chandimal top-scored for Sri Lanka with 75 as the tourists made 238 after winning the toss. Daniel Christian with 5-31 was Australia's most impressive bowler.
