Raja Pervaiz Ashraf sworn in along with his cabinet

ISLAMABAD: Raja Pervaiz Ashraf took oath as the new Prime Minister (PM) Pakistan late on Friday.

President Asif Ali Zardari administered the oath ceremony of newly appointed PM.

The ceremony took place at the President’s House in Islamabad.

Following the PM’s oath, Minister’s of the cabinet were sworn in. The 38 member Cabinet included 27 Federal Ministers and 11 State Ministers. The Federal Ministers are as follows:

President Zardari specially thanked all the coalition partners and stated that the PM’s election was a democratic victory. The President further lauded the efforts National Assembly Speaker, Fehmida Mirza, for swiftly running the election proceedings. Zardari was also full of praise for former PM Yousuf Raza Gilani as he stated that Gilani had to face several hurdles for maintaining the democracy.
