15 judges and 56 bureaucrats received two plots each; PAC told

A Ministry of Housing And Works presented a report before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Tuesday revealed that 15 Judges of Supreme Court including three existing judges and 56 senior bureaucrats received two plots each worth millions of rupees in different sectors of the federal capital.

PAC met here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Nadeem Afzal Gondal to discuss the different audit para of the ministry of SAFFRON.

The Ministry of Housing presented a report before the committee enclosed the details of allotment of two plots each to the Supreme Court Judges and bureaucrats.

Acting Chief Election Commissioner Justice Shakirullah Jan and former chief justice, Abdul Hameed Dogar were also among the beneficiaries.

Foreign Secretary of Pakistan Syed Jalil Abbas, Khalid Saeed, Syed Tariq Ali Bukhari, Nawid Ahsan, Abdur rauf Chaudhry, Ex Secretary ministry of Information and Broadcasting Anwar Mahmood, Shahid Rafi, Maj. Retd. Syed Kamal Shah was also among beneficiaries.

According to this report these plots were allotted under rules framed by the former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz.

Justice Shakirullah Jan, Justice Tasadduqe Jilani, Justice Nasirul Mulk are included among the existing judges, while Justice Khalilur Rahman Ramday, former chief justice Abdul Hameed Dogar, Justice Javed Batar, Justice Saeed Ashhad, Justice Sardar Raza, Justice Nawaz Abbasi, Justice Faquir Khokhar, Justice Javed Iqbal, Justice Falak Sher, Justice Jamshed Ali, Justice Ghulam Rabbani and Justice Zahid Hussain are included among the beneficiaries. Besides, former law secretary Justice (Retired) Mansoor Ahmad also received two residential plots. These plots are located in Islamabad's prized residential sectors D-12, G-14, and G-13.

Auditor General Akhtar Buland Rana explained his absence from previous meetings saying he was in United Nations not in the country.

He said that on the direction of PAC highlighted and unhighlighted paras were separated.

Member committee Noor Alam exchanged harsh words over chairman committee for defending the cabinet secretary and Auditor General. APP
