Govt for holding dialogue but not with bombers: Saad

LAHORE: Pakistan Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique has said the government supports dialogue with those who are willing for it but not with bombers.

Talking to the media on a PR Inter-Divisional Sports closing ceremony at PR Stadium here on Saturday, he said the government strategy was clear about dialogue and it would not talk to those who wanted to kill innocent people in bomb blasts.

He said the government could not remain silent on target killings or bomb blasts and the security forces would respond in the same manner to any attack.

He said, "Musharraf should face the judiciary and law," he added.

To a question on statements by Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Syed Munawar Hassan and PTI Chairman Imran khan, he said they should have told terrorists to stop killing innocent people in suicide bombings instead of urging the government to start dialogue as the government wanted dialogue with dignity and respect.

Talking about the PR deficit, he said the present team could make minor improvements in some sectors, however, more work was needed in education and health sectors of the railways. The minister said the PR had just started its journey towards success in the business sector and the deficit was reduced but not yet overcome.

On security in trains, he said the administration was taking measures to provide security in trains and at platforms but it needed funds. Earlier, the minister was warmly welcomed by PR sports board officials and players in the stadium and he was introduced to the players.

Later, the minister gave away trophies and awards to teams and players.
