United Wstates (US) President Donald Trump has blamed a rise in Covid-19 cases on the increased testing being done.

According to details, Donald Trump has remarked that spike in coronavirus cases is because of increase in testing and claimed that the country would have 'very few cases' if it stopped testing.

“If we stop testing right now, we'd have very few cases, if any”, Trump said while having a discussion at White House.

He further termed testing as a ‘double edged sword' that makes the country 'look bad' but is 'good to have.'

'Our testing is so much bigger and more advanced than any other country (we have done a great job on this!) that it shows more cases. Without testing, or weak testing, we would be showing almost no cases. Testing is a double edged sword - Makes us look bad, but good to have!!!,' the president posted on Twitter account.

Several states across the country, including Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, North Carolina, Oklahoma and South Carolina, have seen spikes in COVID-19 infections as restrictions are eased there.

Initially, New York, Washington, and California were the main hotspots of coronavirus outbreak, but now the states have witnessed a gradual decline in new cases.

The total number of coronavirus cases has topped 2.1 million in the US, according to data collected by Johns Hopkins University.
