ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday said the biggest hurdle in ‘advanced democracy’ in Pakistan is the non-democratic structure of political parties.

The federal minister took to Twitter and said political leadership is chosen on the basis of discretion instead of merit under this structure.

Fawad Chaudhry questioned that is it a democratic act that Maryam Nawaz and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari took charge of party leadership directly. Democracy cannot come until politicians ensure it, he concluded. NNI
