LAHORE, Oct 23 (INP): PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz on Friday said there was no need for a probe into the Karachi incident in her opinion because everything is very much clear. However, she added that she would wait for the inquiry report and the people must know what really had happened.

Maryam was talking to media persons after she arrived at the sit-in organised by the Baloch students at Charing Cross in Lahore against abolishing the scholarship for 600-seat quota reserved for the youth from the province in the higher educational institutions of Punjab.

Replying to different questions, the PML-N leader remarked that the fight was between the “two, four elders” [Big 4] and Imran Khan should not jump into the matter for being just a sideline spectator. The point had already been explained by Nawaz Sharif in his Gujranwala speech, she added. “Nawaz Sharif had said that Imran Khan is just a stooge [and] their actions proved that Imran Khan is just a stooge,” Maryam maintained.

She said they would not backtrack and get frightened no matter how many cases the government was going to register against them. “Nawaz Sharif is present everywhere despite being not in the country. Nawaz Sharif is haunting them,” Maryam remarked.

She maintained that Lt-Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa would have to appear before the court of law and his resignation [from the post of special assistant to the prime minister] wasn’t enough.

About the Baloch students’ issue, the PML-N vice-president said it was Shehbaz Sharif who had allocated the seats. “Punjab is orphan without Shehbaz Sharif. Pakistan is orphan without Nawaz Sharif,” Maryam remarked and added that she would raise the issue in Quetta too during her visit starting tomorrow (Saturday) for Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) rally on Sunday.

“The person who gave scholarship to these students is in prison today. Shehbaz Sharif is being punished for not fighting with his brother.” During the media interaction, Maryam also discussed the alarming rise in inflation, blasting the government over the increase in prices of bread and medicines.
