Gunmen with automatic weapons opened fire in six different locations in central Vienna on Monday, killing at least two persons and injuring dozens. According to details, people were enjoying the final hours of freedom before coronavirus lockdown in Austria, when armed gunmen opened fire in six different locations injuring killing two, including suspect, and injuring several others.

As per police, search operation is underway to arrest the other gunman who is still at large.

The Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz termed it a "repulsive terror attack" and said that one terrorist was killed by police in exchange of fire.

As per hospital sources, two people succumbed to injuries while six others are in critical condition.

The attack occurred just hours before Austria was due to implement restrictions in order to curb the spread of coronavirus.

Attack occurred at a time when several people were dining out in bars and restaurants which will be closed till November end.

Condemnations have been pouring in from the European leaders. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he was "deeply shocked by the terrible attacks".
