Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Qamar Zaman Kaira has tested positive for coronavirus.

According to the details, Kaira who is also serving as PPP Punjab President has quarantined himself after being diagnosed with Covid-19.

Reported, he has arrived back from Gilgit Baltistan (GB) to Islamabad where he was accompanying PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for election campaign.

Several politicians have contracted coronavirus including Ali Zaidi, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Sheikh Rasheed, Musadik Malik, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Marriyum Auragnzeb, Shahbaz Sharif, Hamza Shahbaz, Maula Bakhsh Chandio, Imran Ismail, Saeed Ghani, Kamran Bangash, Zahoor Buledi and several others.

Pakistan has reported 09 coronavirus deaths and 1,650 new positive cases in one day.

According to National Command and Control Center (NCOC), around 1,650 cases of coronavirus were reported while 09 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 6,977.

The total number of confirmed cases reached to 343,189.
