A district and sessions court in Islamabad sent PTI leader Shahbaz Gill, who was arrested by the Islamabad Police Tuesday on charges of sedition and inciting the public against state institutions, on two-day physical remand of police on Wednesday. Following the hearing, his lawyer said Gill had informed the court that his life could be under threat if he was handed over to the police on physical remand.
Police have since arrested Gill’s driver’s wife and his brother-in-law.
Sources within Islamabad police say that the driver was believed to be in possession of Gill’s primary phone. Gill’s Twitter account is still active and the police believe that Gill’s primary phone is being used for that purpose.
Gill was not tortured during his time in police custody, according to the medical report received by Islamabad police.**

A three-member medical conducted the examination and determined that Gill was not tortured while in police custody.
