Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's MPA and opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz has been suffering from fever and tested positive for the novel coronavirus while in the prison, shared Maryam Aurangzeb.

“In view of his deteriorating health, he should be shifted from the Kot Lakhpat Jail to a hospital immediately,” PML-N's spokesperson demanded in a tweet. “And, all legal requirements should be completed so that he is offered healthcare facilities.”

Maryam Nawaz Sharif also demanded for his release:

"Hamza Shehbaz has unjustly and illegally been incarcerated for more than a year now. The tyrants masking as rulers must know that even the naked, brutal force they rely upon will be of no help when the payback time strikes & the day is not far, Insha’Allah," she wrote on Twitter.
