PM Imran meets Chinese Defense Minister, discusses bilateral ties
Prime Minister Imran Khan, on Tuesday, met China’s Minister of National Defense General Wei Fenghe in Islamabad and discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, shared Prime Minister's office.
Wei Fenghe also attended a special investiture ceremony that was held at Awan-e-Sadar where he was conferred Nishan-e-Imtiaz Military by President Dr. Arif Alvi in recognition of his services for further promoting and strengthen defense cooperation between Pakistan and China.
The ceremony was attended by the federal ministers, the services chiefs and other senior ranking officials.
The visiting dignitary also met the Chief of army staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday. During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security, and enhanced bilateral defense collaboration were discussed.
During the meeting, General Bajwa thanked the dignitary for China’s unwavering support to Pakistan on all key issues at regional and international forums. He said Pakistan Army greatly values its time-tested and brotherly relations with China. A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed for enhancement of defense cooperation between both the Armies.
