  • 19 countries have reported at least 1 million Covid-19 cases.

  • Over 589,000 new cases were reported across the world in the last 24 hours.

Thirteen months in the pandemic, the world has crossed the grim milestone of 100 million coronavirus infections.

According to the Covid-19 statistics provided by the esteemed Johns Hopkins University, the number of total cases globally has reached 101,142,479 and at least 2,180,867 people have been confirmed to be died due to coronavirus-related causes.

Of all the countries, the United States is by far the most devastated country as it has reported over 25.6 million Covid-19 cases so far. India, Brazil, and several European countries are also unable to contain the lethal flu bug.

To date, 11 countries have confirmed more than two million coronavirus cases while the number of countries with over one million cases is 19.

Epidemiologists and health researchers across the globe believe that this pandemic is still far from being over. The only way to make this pandemic part of history is mass vaccination drives in every region of the world as early as possible. But the reality is that so far only a handful of countries -first world countries- have begun vaccination campaigns due to a multitude of obvious reasons and the rest of the world is still waiting for coronavirus jabs.
