Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday arrived in Quetta on a day-long visit to Quetta where he is expected to inaugurate the $179 billion worth Gwadar East-Bay Expressway, which is the main artery of the port through which the entire traffic of the port would flow.

The 19km six-lane expressway along with a provision of 30 metres wide railway corridor would connect the port with the Mekran Coastal Highway (N-20) through the 2281 acres of free trade zone of Gwadar Port, according to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo received the premier at the airport. Provincial minister Muhammad Khan Lehri, Chief Secretary Abdul Aziz Aqeeli, IG police, and IG FC were also present.

PM Shehbaz would be the chief guest at the passing out parade of the Command and Staff College. The premier would pay an aerial visit to Gwadar port. He is expected to address a ceremony after meeting fishermen and seniors of the local jirga.
