Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday fired a broadside at the united opposition, which has moved a vote of no-confidence against him in the National Assembly, saying that he was actually hoping for such a situation so any illusions that the opposition might have, are completely dispelled.

"They have done that work [no-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan] for which I was praying to God. They have called for their political death," he said while addressing a gathering in Karachi.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Maritime Affairs Minister Ali Zaidi and other PTI leaders were also present. Qureshi and Zaidi had led a protest in Sindh against the PPP in reaction to the opposition's party against the government.

The premier drew lots of cheers from the crowd to his rant against former president Asif Ali Zardari and Leader of Opposition Shehbaz Sharif. “I was waiting for so many years to get them,” PM Imran said, adding that he was not getting enough time to respond to the opposition due to the issues – including Covid-19, Afghanistan, and the global issues.

According to the premier, currently, he was free to get the opposition and put them behind bars. “I was praying somehow they submit the no-trust move. Now, what will happen… they have not just got into a trap where they will fail,” he said, “The time when it fails I will not let them go.”

He added: “For a long time, I have aimed my gun at Asif Ali Zardari.” PM Imran accused the former president of using police for personal benefits and taking bribes. “Zardari your time is up,” he said, alleging that the PPP co-chairman has allocated Rs200 million for the PTI leaders.

The premier alleged that one of his MNAs had come up with similar allegations.

He took a jibe at the opposition leaders’ medical excuse upon their appearance before the court, saying that the duo – Zardari and Shehbaz – have been skipping it. The premier said the PML-N president would be behind bars after three months. “We will further decrease the electricity prices after recovering money from the Sharif family.”

PM Imran also slammed PDM head Fazlur Rehman for intimidating NAB, saying that the moment when the no-trust move failed the PM would bring 100,000 people in response to Fazl's 2,000 people outside the court. He alleged that the trio – Zardari, Shehbaz, and Fazl – had damaged the country over the years.

He added that he was going to address rallies in Dir on Friday and in Hafizabad on Sunday.

Moreover, he urged Zardari to teach the latter's son PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto some Urdu. "For God's sake teach your son Urdu it's been 15 years. I have seen English people learning Urdu in two years," he said and wondered "how such a group of dacoits came to save the country."

Talking about the opposition's reaction to his Melsi speech, where he objected to the foreign letter to Pakistan on Ukraine, PM Imran said: "I have said nothing. I just reminded them that our 80,000 people died and our tribal areas were destroyed when we participated in their war. Moreover, 3.5 million migrated from tribal areas."

He lamented the West did not acknlowedged the country's efforts, adding: "I will support you in peace but never support any proxy war."
