Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former finance minister Ishaq Dar said that the previous fascist regime of the PTI-led government had denied the renewal of his passport which according to him expired in 2018.

Speaking exclusively on Aaj News programme Faisla Aap Ka, Dar said that PML-N’s supremo Nawaz Sharif’s passport also expired three months earlier and the government had also denied renewing Nawaz’s passport.

Earlier it also emerged that the Ministry of Interior has started the process to renew the passports of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and ex-finance minister Ishaq Dar.

Geo News citing sources reported that the Pakistani High Commission in London has also been directed to start work on the renewal of the passports of the PML-N leaders.

Dar in his today's interview further said that the previous government was the worst example of fascism.

In response to Imran Khan’s removal from the Prime Minister’s office via a vote of no-confidence, Dar said that the PTI government has brought nothing but destruction to the country. “Thus ended the fascist regime,” he said adding that it was the darkest period in the country’s history.”

The PML-N leader said that his party was not in favour of no-confidence motion against the former prime minister Imran Khan, adding that his party desired that the PTI-led government should complete its tenure.

“During their [PTI’s] tenure, debts accumulated. “The country advanced under the leadership of the PML-N,” said the former finance minister.

He further said that the credit goes to the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), PML-N’s Nawaz Sharif and other opposition parties whose efforts ended the fascist regime of PTI.

Dar also claimed that the current government would also bring the US dollar back to at least Rs 160.
