Nurses protest split into two groups
LAHORE: Nurses protesting for their demands were divided into two groups on Wednesday, after one group called-off their protest last night, while the other group continued their protest for the third day, Aaj News reported.
Young Nurses Association Punjab was protesting against the non-appointment of ad-hoc and contract-based employees on permanent basis. The protestors staged a sit-in near Copper Road, outside Punjab Assembly, which is still on-going.
President Nurses Association Rozeena Manzur appealed the participants to call-off the protest, after Ministry of Health assured that they would accept their demands which caused the protestors to split into two factions.
Hospitals has been directed to take action against those nurses involved in the protest.
