The Interior Ministry Monday ordered suspension of mobile phone services in all major cities, including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Quetta Multan, from 6am to 10pm on 9^th and 10^th Muharram (today) due to security reasons.

The cities where mobile phone service would remain suspended for the next two days included Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Attock, Multan, Gujranwala, Rahimyar Khan, DG Khan, Muzaffargarh, Bhakkar, Sargodha, Jhang, Nankana, Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana, Khairpur, Nosheroferoz, Nowshehra, Charsadda, Harripur, Mansehra, Kohat, Mardan, Tank, Hango, DI Khan, Quetta, Kallat, Kohlu and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Interior Ministry has also declared 54 districts as sensitive where Army, Rangers and FC will be deployed on 9th and 10th Muharram. On the other hand, pillion riding has also been banned for three days in different cities, including Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, DI Khan, Hango, Hyderabad and DI Khan.
