The Islamabad High Court on Monday dismissed a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) through which the petitioner had sought uploading of Form-14 on the official website of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

A division bench of the Islamabad High Court comprising Justice Noor-Ul-Haq N. Qureshi and Justice Athar Minallah resumed the hearing of a petition filed by a PTI office-bearer Saifullah Khan Niazi, through Shoaib Shaheen, and pleaded before the court to direct ECP to upload Form-14, which carries details of election results of the National Assembly and provincial assemblies, on its official website.

During the course of proceedings, the bench while turning down PTI's petition in its verdict said that the party should trust and respect the institutions. The bench directed the petitioner to file a formal request before the ECP instead of issuing a legal notice to the ECP. The bench maintained that the PTI could file a petition before the court, if the ECP did not entertain their petition.

Earlier, the petitioner pleaded that his party has pointed out several discrepancies and irregularities in 2013 Elections. In this regard, the PTI has already registered its protest throughout the country and served a legal notice on the ECP, but it did not reply to the notice nor did it upload Form -14 on its official website, which is a violation of "right to information", as guaranteed under Article 19-A of the constitution.
