Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Pervaiz Rashid has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PIT) Chairman Imran Khan breached commitments that he made in relation to his Lahore protest due to which four innocent lives were lost in the city.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, the Information Minister said that the PTI has reneged on its commitment that it made with the city administration on the protest and staged protests at 24 different places in the city, while the party agreed to stage protest at 18 points; consequently, alternative routes were also blocked. He regretted that four precious lives were lost in Lahore due to road blockades by PTI workers who did not allow patients to reach hospitals and tried to forcibly shut down shops and businesses.

Criticising the PTI workers, Rashid termed them "wolves", saying that Khan's "tigers" turned into "wolves" for common Pakistanis and especially for women. He added that "Khan is training Pakistani youth as wolves and they have no respect for any one". "The PTI has representatives of Pakistan's richest class, his allies are running their business in the country and paying their taxes, while Imran Khan asks poor public of Pakistan not to pay electricity bills and shut their business in response to his call," he added.

To a question about formation of a judicial commission, Rashid said the government wrote a letter to the Supreme Court for the formation of a judicial commission on August 13; hence Imran Khan should have to stop protest demonstration. The Information minister condemned PTI workers' attack on a private news channel's reporter in Lahore.
