495 community police centres being set up: IGP Sindh

The IGP Sindh Wajid Ali Khan Durrani has issued comprehensive guidelines to help implement effective community police centres (CPCs) in the province.

"We have launched a program to establish at least 495 CPCs in the province  involving the civil society not only to beat crime but also to have a friendly environment for peace and harmony among the masses," he pointed out in his instructions issued to SHOs across the province on Sunday.

He said all the CPCs would be working in close coordination with the respective area SHOs.

He said there is a need for street-watch and neighborhood patrolling which would facilitate check on crimes and criminal suspects.

Durrani said that there was also need for the CPCs to seek suggestions from the area residents regarding the security situation in their  respective areas.
