With the session of the National Assembly during which the no-confidence motion would be tabled is a few days away, the united opposition has agreed that the new prime minister would be from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz party, if the no-trust move against Prime Minister Imran Khan is successful, reported Aaj News.

A power-sharing deal for the new in-house change has been devised by the opposition.

Following the success of initiating the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, members of the opposition parties are now also proposing to initiate such motions against National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser and Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri, with a consensus that the candidates for the posts would be from the Pakistan People’s Party and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam respectively.

Names of former leaders of the opposition in the NA Khursheed Shah and PPP leader Naveed Qameer were under consideration for the post of NA Speaker.

The united opposition has decided to award the portfolios of the foreign ministry to a PPP leader while the portfolios of finance and interior would be given to PML-N leaders. Discussions will be held to arrive at a consensus for the portfolio of defence, energy, health and railways, especially since PML-N wanted the portfolios for three ministries excluding energy.

The leadership would decide the names of the candidates for the posts allotted to the party.

As per reports, the opposition was also considering initiating no-confidence motions against Senate Chairperson Sadiq Sanjrani and Deputy Chairperson Mirza Muhammad Afridi. However, the no-trust move against them could be delayed on the demands of the Balochistan Awami Party, as it holds the chairpersonship of the Upper House of the Parliament.

Senator Yousuf Raza Gilani, a PPP senior leader, would be awarded the Senate chairpersonship in that case.

The opposition might also announce the name for the post of the country's president in a surprise move.
